CRABWOOD
"A Medium
density lumber, kiln-dries very rapidly.
This wood is appropriate for internal
finishing, in general construction, as
for baseboards, molding, doors, jambs,
wainscot, decorative carved laminates
and furniture. It is also used for
various posts, stakes, and supports, and
for fences and gateposts. This wood easy
to work with and has an excellent finish
when planed, turned or bored. "Resistant
to dry-wood termites and moderately
resistant to marine borers".

ANGELIM PEDRA
A Medium
density lumber, kiln-dries very rapidly.
This wood is appropriate for internal
finishing, in general construction, as
for baseboards, molding, doors, jambs,
wainscot, decorative carved laminates
and furniture. It is also used for
various posts, stakes, and supports, and
for fences and gateposts. This wood easy
to work with and has an excellent finish
when planed, turned or bored. "Resistant

CEDRORANA
Cedrelinga Catenaeformis
Light
wood, air dries easily and kiln-dries
rapidly. It is used for general and
naval construction, boats, carpentry and
interior work. Also used for producing
furniture, veneer, plywood, railroad
cars, truck platforms, boxes and crates.
It is easy to saw, plan, nail and screw.
When treated with steam, solid pieces
can be curved or bent. "Moderately
resistant to fungus and insects".

Cedrela Odorata Light to moderate heavy
wood, cuts well, long life in dry
climates. Easy and fast kiln-dry. It is
used for fine furniture production; for
general and naval and airplanes
construction; musical instruments, small
boxes and pencils; sculpturing and wood
handcrafting, modeling, molding,
boarding, planking and flooring. Easy to
work with manual and mechanical tools.
It has excellent absorption of pigments
and can be well polished.

This is a
heavy wood, ready for use after either
slow air-drying and/or a fast kiln-dry.
It is used for general construction such
beams, rafters, studs, battens, door
jambs, wainscot. It is an excellent
flooring wood. Also used externally as
well for posts, pillars, gatepost,
connecting beams and long lasting
cross-ties. It is used for truck
platform, railroad cars, naval and
furniture construction, lathe turned
poles and tool handles. Resistant to
fungus, marine borers and insects.

density wood, ready for use after fast
air-drying. Easy to process on a lathe
and drill, with excellent finishing
results. It is used for furniture

Apuleia Leiocarpa
This is a
fairly heavy hardwood, long-lasting and
easy to work with. It is used in general
carpentry, for handles, barrels, doors
and windows, and lathe-turned products.
It is used as well for general
construction such as beams, battens,
rafters, parquet blocks and flooring.
For external use, garapa is used as
posts, fence posts, cross-ties, bridge
beams and pillars.

IPE
BRAZILIAN WALNUT
Tabebuia spp.
Hard and
heavy wood, easy air drying, easy and
quick kiln-drying. There is good reason
why IPE is the choice throughout the
world for decks, walkways, floors,
pilings and piers which are exposed to
the weather (including the Atlantic City
Boardwalk) and which get heavy use. It
is a hardwood that is incredibly durable
and attractive. It is used for general
and naval construction such as rafters,
beams and battens. It is used for
furniture, musical instruments, handles
for tools, knives and brushes. It is
also used for billiard cues, pillars and
beams, cross-ties, posts, truck
platforms and crates. It is recommended
that it be drilled prior to nailing or
screwing. Good finishing wood. Highly
resistant to fungus and termites.

beautiful, hard and heavy wood, fast air
and kiln- drying. A premier wood used

its beauty, it is also used for musical
instruments, decorative paneling, door
and window moldings, jambs. Because of
its durability it is used for tool
handles, for external use as cross-ties,
posts, gateposts and bridge
construction. Easily painted, varnished
and polished. Easily sanded,
lathe-turned and drilled. Highly
resistant to fungus and termites.

heavy wood, fast kiln-drying. Easy to
saw, laminate, lathe turn, glue and
drill. It is recommended for external
construction as cross- ties, gate and
fence posts, connecting rods, bridges
and marine piers. Also used for truck
platforms. This beautiful hardwood is
excellent for door and window moldings,
parquet blocks and planks for flooring,
decorative carved laminates, internal
finishing. It is used for furniture,
musical instrument and toy manufacturing.
Reasonably resistant to fungus and
termites attacks and very resistant to
humidity.

wood, fast kiln-dry. Easy to saw,
reasonably easy to plane. It is used for
furniture manufacturing, general
construction, manufacture of packing
cases, crates and partition walls.

MARUPA
Simarouba Amara
Light wood.
May be air-dried if lumber is kept
stacked and covered. Very fast kiln-dry.
Easy to work with manual and mechanical
tools. Excellent for sanding, drilling.
Long lasting when used dry. It is used
for furniture, molding, interior work,
musical instruments, door and window
moldings, broom handles, matches sticks,
plywood, laminates. Even used for wooden
clog manufacturing.

MUIRACATIARA
Gonçalo-Alves
Astronium lecointei Also
known as Aroeira
Gonçalo-Alves is one of our most
beautiful tropical woods. It is tough,
strong and durable. It is typically a
finely textured wood with a heartwood
described as reddish brown to light
golden brown, with irregularly spaced
blackish brown streaks. Slow kiln drying
recommended. Highly regarded for its
durability. This wood is far superior in
strength to either Teak or Hard Maple.
It is harder than Teak and does not mar
or dent easily. Very heavy with high
density. When air-dried to 12% moisture
content, its bending strength is
exceptionally high. A premier wood with
many uses, from general construction
requiring strength and durability to the
manufacture of fine furniture, cabinets
and flooring. The wood can be polished
and finished very easily. A clear finish
enhances the beauty of this wood. Highly
resistant to decay-causing organisms,
dry wood insects and termites.

Satinwood
a finely textured, beautiful wood with a
heartwood described as deep red or pale
reddish brown, sometimes with a greenish
golden beige ribbon figure. Easy to dry
with careful attention to the process. A
premier wood used worldwide for fine
furniture, cabinets and flooring.
Because of its beauty, it is also used
for musical instruments, decorative
paneling, door and window moldings,
jambs. Good polishing characteristics.
Highly resistant to decay-causing
organisms, dry wood insects and

Middle
density wood. Very fast kiln-dried. Easy
to sand, lathe turn and drill. It is
used for external construction such as
posts, pillars, fence posts, bridge
beams, cross ties and connecting rods.
For general construction as beams,
rafters, battens, parquet blocks and
planks for flooring, door and window
jambs. For the production of furniture,
tools handles, decorative covering and
lathe turned pieces. "Highly resistant
to fungus and termites, good resistance
to dry wood insects".

QUARUBA
Vochysia
Light
wood, fast kiln-dry. Easy to saw,
reasonably easy to plane. It is used for
general construction as ceilings,
moldings, lathe turned pieces,
furniture, veneers and other wood trim.
Used as well for carpentry, furniture
frames, plywood, light packaging
material, planks, concrete moldings and
toys. It has a variable resistance to
wood rot, susceptible to fungus and
termites. "Reasonably resistant to dry
wood insects".

medium density, fast kiln-drying. Easy
to work with and good for gluing. It is
used for furniture, general and naval
construction, decorative articles,
utensils, toys, musical instruments,
boxes, crates, packaging material,
curved pieces, carpentry, laminates and
plywood.
